In this year's NHL season there is a new team on the block. The Vegas Golden Knights are an expansion team looking to make some noise this season and not be considered as just a "below-average" team. After the recent shooting this year in Vegas that left many people shocked and shunned, and the citizens of Nevada were still excited for this team's new opportunity that would shine a light through this adversity. The Knights have a lot of young talent as well as crafty veterans through their expansion draft including former Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury was the Penguin's first overall pick back in 2003 and played for them for over 14 seasons. In those 14 seasons, he was able to capture three Stanley Cups and be able to play along side one of the greatest hockey players of all time in Sidney Crosby. Fleury and fellow goaltender Malcolm Subban have combined for 16 wins this season which is a pretty solid duo at net. Center Jonathan Marchessault leads the team with 34 total points this season and the other center William Karlsson has a productive 17 goals and counting. They also have talented wingers including David Perron, Reilly Smith, and James Neal helping develop the team as a whole. The Golden Knights are first in the Pacific Division and are ranked third in the league for goals per game averaging about three a game. Vegas is looking to roll the dice this year and expect to see them in the NHL playoffs later this season.
