Derrick Rose explodes in 50-point barrage

2011 regular season MVP Derrick Rose showed last night that throughout all of his setbacks, he's still got it. The PG played 41 minutes last night and put up a MONSTER stat line with 50 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and one game-winning block to secure the 128-125 win over the Utah Jazz. Nobody expected this to happen except for the man himself, Derrick Rose. 50 points became his new career high and he has not scored for more than 40 in a game since his MVP campaign year. With all of the headlines lurking over the Timberwolves this season, this was a touching moment for the franchise as a whole. A very emotional Rose said after that the game that he has constantly worked his butt off to get to where he is now despite his previous knee injuries. The team celebrated in the locker room after with teammates spraying Rose down with water and cheering for him after an illustrious night to say the least. It goes to wonder what could have been if Rose had never missed all that time because of injury? Regardless of that, he still loves to play the game and continues to get better every single time he is playing whether it be on the Bulls, Knicks, Cavaliers, or Timberwolves. If he continues to put up big numbers every night, we might hear his name in the MVP conservation towards the end of the regular season.
