MLB is Back

We have not reached opening day yet but the hype is certainly there. Baseball is back people, and its going to be a hell of a season. A lot of new faces on different teams and every team has the same goal on hand: survive the 162 game regular-season. It is long but quite rewarding when a team can finally say they are World Series Champions. But before we can even assume who is going to be in the World Series, we have to start off with pre-season first. The Grapefruit and Cactus leagues have started up recently and the weather could not be any better, I'm serious. Mid-70's and sunny? I will gladly take that over New England weather any day. Anyway, pitchers and catchers have already started getting warmed up and teams played each other today including the defending champions Houston Astros. They defeated the Washington Nationals 3-2 and Bleacher Report has them ranked as the #1 team heading into the regular season. That may be true considering they have most of their roster returning including George Springer, Carlos Correa, and the 2017 AL MVP Jose Altuve.

Other teams in the American League looking to contend with them are the New York Yankees who have recently required former Marlins' OF Giancarlo Stanton, and the Boston Red Sox who signed J.D. Martinez this past week to help with the depth in the roster. The Rays, Indians, and Blue Jays also looking to keep up with the potential heavy hitters in the AL. In the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to bounce back from the World Series loss to the Astros by keeping their ace Clayton Kershaw healthy along with players like Matt Kemp and Justin Turner. The Colorado Rockies and young star Nolan Arenado are seeking to rise to the top of the league, contending with teams like the Nationals, Cubs, and Brewers. There is a ton of talent this year on each team and with opening day creeping upon us, we have nothing else but to get excited of what to expect this year.
